Finding Code on 2014 Chassis

Somewhere along the line Ford or certain RV manufacturers started putting it on the outside firewall which is a good thing. It's still a bit hard to see but at least you don't have to stand on your head to read it!

My hope was to keep the thread going long enough so that someone with a 2005-6 chassis would notice and chime in.
Below is a couple of photos on how I found my code on the 2015 Brave (14 chassis)

1. Photo 1: Looking straight into engine compartment

2. Look to the right for 3 wrapped bundles of wires. I have shown the light on the area in question;

3. The number is located on the plate between the 3 connections. I had to stick my camera around one of the bundles and take a picture of the tag to get my number.

Jim-that's exactly what I did, even to the point of having to take a picture to get the number. I couldn't get my head back there far enough to read it!

Why are there different PCM numbers for the same engines?

Coach differences, ie weight, gear ratios,etc. That's why 5 star needs those items to reprogram the pcm.

It's a real pain to get the PCM number, but having installed the tune, in the end it was worth the effort.
