I had the same problem and installed quick battery disconnects. I posted about it here, along with a photo: House batteries dead - Itasca Viva 23B - Winnebago Owners Online Community

Now as far me, I don't have that issue, I just shut off the house and Chassis batteries by pushing 2 switches by the door when I exit.

Battery

I have 2 shutoff battery switch one for house and one for start engine battery and it also has a off and on switch on + cable and once a month I run engine and Gen and never have a problem.
