I think you are correct about the 2G alternator. I replaced all the belts and hoses today and was able to get good look at it and it seems to be the 2G alternator and not the 100 amp like I was hoping. I didn't see any kind of red paint mark like was stated in one of the earlier posts. Now I have to see if I have the time and money to try and do that swap before I leave for my trip in 3 weeks.

I run a DirecTV receiver, and/or a DVR player and sometimes a VCR with a 300 watt inverter....(have since 2001).

To answer part of the OP, IMO a 65 amp alternator will have no problem "keeping up" with the draw of a "small TV and a DVD player".
