How to add cruise control light?
There is no light to show the cruise control is on. Is there some line or circuit that a LED could be tied into to make a cruise control indicator?

So, either no one has done this, or I am the only one with no indicator light for the cruise control.

Our 2000 coach has an orange "Off" light that illuminates on our gear selector handle when I depress the button on the end of the handle that locks it out of OD, other than that, no light.

I made mine function in my '04. Don't know if the "speed control servo/amplifier assembly" has the pin that controls the light, or if there's a bulb in the 460 cluster like there is in my V10.

There's a link to a guy who made it work in his Ranger in the thread above. A google search my find more examples.

It could be done if you're handy with a multimeter. You'd need to identify the wire that gets energized when the cruise control is turned on and also the wire energized when the cruise control 'set' button is pressed. These wires could then be connected to a LED's. The first would indicate the cruise is on, the second would light when it's set and working. A wiring diagram of your chassis would be a big first step and avoid a lot of testing.
Without a light, a gentle tap on the brake pedal will disengage the CC.

I have been searching for a wiring diagram. Haven't found one. Emailed ford. Was told they don't have anything for a chassis this old.

The first two I have seen, but, they are block diagrams and don't show the individual wires or connector pin outs.

You have not said what F53 chassis you have, a 1997 or a 1999.
So here are both, as I recall pin #1 will operate the on/off lamp.
