My husband would think "Hush Mat" as a device not to hear me along with his selective hearing.

OSP1268 Your laminate flooring project looks great but I have a couple of questions. How did you attach it to the floor? Did you use adhesive or just let it float? If I get a quick answer I will start on it tomorrow. I'd like to get it done before we leave for Florida.

I actually didn't do it myself, we had a local shop do it.
The floor is floating, just like it would be in a house. It has molding around the edges & a T-moldeing where it meets the floor tile. Where the seats are, the installer made a carpeted cover to fit over the pedestals and hide where the laminate comes up to the pedestals.
The attached photo is the only one I have showing the molding that was used around the edges of the flooring.

OSP1268, thanks for the quick response. We stay in Sebastian for the winter and that's about 65 mi from where you are. I could save a lot of work by getting it done where you did if you wouldn't mind giving me the shops contact info.

To make a long story short, the shop that did ours went out of business about 3 months after they did ours. Seems the owner and his wife had a dispute of some sort and they just up and closed. Last I heard they were moving to Myrtle Beach.
There is a place in Jupiter, FL that I've heard does excellent work, but have never been there myself ( Land Yachts, Inc. -- Jupiter, Florida)
Or you might try a local installer, ask around Lowes or Home Depot and they could probably recommend someone.
Good Luck!

Easy way to tell, if the noise reduces greatly as soon as it shifts back to high gear, good chance it is intake / engine noise. If the noise reduces a little after the upshift, think fan. I felt from OP that it was related to downshift, higher RPM, The fan clutch won't always kick in right away on a downshift, OP will have to listen and relate the scenario.

That's interesting. My MH sounds like the rpms drop off a few seconds after it shifts into OD. This must be the fan shutting down. I always wondered about that. Thanks !

You should see the RPM drop as it shifts to OD, if the noise reduction is later than that it would be the fan dropping out.
