Checking on fluid for the "hydramax" and brake fluid, Called Ford today and they only know of using trans fluid for the hydramax brake/steering, they did say they have the truck brake fluid , Does any one know the part #s for the correct brake fluid and if any special steering fluid is available

Cartex1, did you call the Ford customer assistance folks at 800 444-3311? The owner's manual that came with my 2000 Specifies Motorcraft MERCON ATF for the power steeering fluid. Ford part # for brake fluid is C6AZ-19542-AB. Ford specifications for brake fluid is ESA-M6C25-A and DOT 3. However Ron Pung with Ford gave a seminar at the FMCA convention at Albuquerque in 2004 where he gave the following information: "The Hydromax brake systems after 2004 use DOT 4 brake fluid. It's okay to retrofit your DOT 3 fluid with the DOT 4 fluid with a good flushing."
