I want to thank N8Xz's for his post on 7/28/05 on Ford's fix for possible water injestion into the air cleaner.
I took my 2004 F-53 Class A to the local Ford dealer (Downs Ford, Toms River N.J.)and told him about the TSB 04/24/22 bulletin. Because in was still under warranty, they installed a new intake tube free of charge! Thanks again for the post. Anyone that does not have one should get one installed to preventwater injestion into the engine.

Did they install the fix under the Ford or Winnebago warranty?

It would be helpful to all to see before vs. after pics of this change if possible.

Ford dealers in Tampa Florida are well aware of this one and I just picked up the last one in the area. It was $45.12 for the trap and $19.03 for the mounting strap for my 2001 F53.

Regards,

If your Rv is still covered by the Ford warranty, Ford will install it free of charge.

I tried at LazyDays in Sefner and they wouldn't take care of this as part of their PDI process. They will only take care of recalls not TSB's. To say the least I am not impressed with the quality of their service. They lost much of the contents of the coach while detailing, including the manual slide winch and TV/Radio remotes. They also let the awning fly and broke the bolts on the upper mount. Soaked the carpet so badly that it took 12 hours to dry in the Florida sun and even though they insisted that I be ready to pick up the coach at 1 PM did not have it "ready" until almost 8 PM and then it was still too messed up to take delivery of it. Oh well.

Regards,

Installed mine last night. Drove the unit home Monday evening and had a 10 minute downpour during the half hour drive. After four days sitting in the mid nineties temperatures here in Sunny Florida I removed a damp air filter and got a bath when I pulled the old intake down from underneath the housing. Installation was a bit tight but pretty much matched the pictures posted by Bill (Thanks Bill). My brother and nephew assisted and were amazed at the amount of water that had been sucked up into the filter from a 10 minute storm and still remained after four days in the Florida Sun. They should have recalled on this and not just put out a TSB. I am glad I got a two year warranty on this coach and now wonder if I should bump it to five.

Regards,
