On our 1998 35' Santara with 460 engine I was lucky to see 6 mpg and sometimes 4.5 was common.

Our 30' ACE had done 22265 up to the last fill up and we put 2753.1 gallons of fuel in it for 8.09 mpg. That's a mixture of pulling our RAV-4 and not -- probably about half and half. Oddly, our best mileage ever was pulling the car and our worst was not.

No biggie. The stats are the same at the bottom line.
Here's a new PDF that has the column correction.
Sorry everyone. This revised PDF is the good one.

Very Nice information.
I get a little less MPG around 6.2 to 6.5 however that is because I run my GEN. almost non stop. My last trip NJ to KEY WEST and back to NJ I ran my GEN over 114 hours on our 10 day trip. If I backed out the fuel used by the GEN I bet I would also be about same 7.3 MPG which is great when I consider we are really pushing a giant square box down the road.
The more important number is the SPG ... Smiles Per Gallon our MH provides us great family memories that will last a lifetime.
We are leaving tomorrow for another round trip fun run to KEY WEST
Can't wait bet we get over 100 SPG on this trip as well.

In 2013 we did a big loop from MI to WA to CA to MO and home, 7500 miles towing our CJ-7 (3600 pounds). We averaged 6.44 mpg. I am a bit of a risk taker so I never took on less than 40 gallons of fuel at a time. Typically on my annual trek from MI to FL, I plan on fuel every 400 miles taking on about 60 gallons in my 75 gallon tank. I try to do Flying J or Pilot so I can use their card which lets me take on as much as I want with just one swipe at the pump and get their discount with no stress about whether or not I am going to get in and out. Very helpful that I use a Garmin 760 RV GPS which lets me search for a specific gas brand on my route as far out as 150 miles as I drive. Paid only $2.13 in KY and $2.16 in GA last week. Sure beats the $4.00 I paid in 2007 when I first rented a rig. Oh, and I am a cruise control kind of guy. Would love adaptive cruise.

I paid $4.799 in California in August. Luckily I was on two wheels and didn't need much.

Very Nice Post
Thanks for posting, folks are always asking - What did it Cost you in gas?.
I just did a similar 5K mile trip.
MH - 40' weighs at 23,400 lbs and pulling a CR-v.
Trip was from the east coast, thru the Rockies and back.
Avg. - 6.7 mpg , @ avg cost of $2.66 a gallon
Speed on open Hwy 65 - 70 MPH ( of course slower in the mountains)
Was using cruise control when ever possible. I do feel that results may be a little better if I was alone and not following a diesel motor home. Times I felt like I was always playing catch up. Price of gas would also be cheaper - 10 - 20 cents a gallon. I fueled up at truck stops where the diesel went.
Happy Rving !!

Every now and then I get the itch to measure MPG, but I'm not that diligent.
Even if I knew for sure what it is, I'd still travel and probably wouldn't change my driving style much.
The MH gets the proper maintenance (fluids, filters, tire pressure ...etc.). I'm not sure there is a lot that could change the outcome.
I just read a ton of posts on tuning the V10, most swear by the 5star for shifting and perceived power (mostly changes reaction to pedal position, not actually more HP), none really claimed much in terms of MPG increases. The expert dude over on the forum threads detailed what has to be done to the V10 tune to eke out even more performance, but to do so you need the knowledge and tools. He was showing results in the 10's.
It would be great if there was a surefire way to get in the 8's (10's would be really cool) all the time...and not by driving 45mph.

Our Xite infotainment/GPS system built into our RV has a fuel function - basically a built in calculator and it stores all fuel details. We’ve used it for every fuel stop since day one. We always fill up the RV at every fuel stop as well. We’ve not missed one in 27-months of ownership.
We weigh 28,000 lbs fully loaded with toad of 4,400 lbs. And, we have the 5 Star tune installed. I drive ~62 mph.
On individual trips we see between a low of 4.9 Min and a high of 8.1 Max. Over the 2+ years we’ve averaged 6.5 mpg and traveled ~24k miles. During the first year we averaged 6.3 and the average has ticked up over the second year to the 6.5 number.
This number does include running the generator about 20% of the time and idling while jacks and slides are deployed. An average of purely driving would probably be between 6.8 and 7.1
