Jack Placement

I did do a search on this but the results were about everything but.

Are there specific areas the stabilizer jacks should OR should not be placed (welded) on the e-450 chassis? Right now I just use screw jacks where I can get to them and I can't stand crawling around on the ground any more.

Is 4 sufficient. It is a 29 footer.

Thanks.

Usually the instructions that come with a leveling system will have suggestions as to the mounting points. Normal mounting would be done on the frame rails of the original chassis, not on the extensions often added to the ends of the frame rails.

I would give HWH corporation a call. They've made and installed leveling jacks on Winnebago motorhomes for many years. They do make kits to retrofit motorhomes that didn't have them installed at the factory.

Welcome to HWH Corporation

You might be right about that especially if you purchased the jacks specifically retailed for RVs. I will look into that but there are many chassis to cover and I can't see them taking responsibility for advice they give.

A Ford E-450 chassis is a pretty popular, known design. The information is available if you use Google to search for leveling jacks for that chassis and then look up installation instructions. If you're going to have them installed by a professional shop, they will have the knowledge and experience to locate the mounts at the proper locations, run the wiring and/or hydraulic hoses, etc.

Our leveling system is standard equipment on many motor homes built on the 450 chassis, and we've done countless after-market installations on that same frame. If you'd like more info on what can be done for your coach, I'd be happy to help! Give us a call anytime!

You can also check us out at Home - Equalizer Systems and have a look at our motor home leveling options.
