Jacks?
I have a sticky jack, in fact it will not come up on its own anytime. Lubing the tube does not help. I assume that the springs are not as springy as they where 15 years ago. Is it possible to put a tie of some kind around a coil or two on the spring to make it tighter, like a clamp. Am I speaking English here.

Not sure what system you have but I had to have an HWH jack rebuilt last year. Seems seals and such were deteriorated and jamming the cylinder. I now have another that is very hard to raise.

This is common on HWH jacks. Rebuilding is the usual cure. This is why I am a big fan of the power up and power down jacks. No matter how tight the seal pack gets, If you hit that baby with 2000 psi, It is going to move.

It might work! If is only a weak spring and not the seals. A tie wrap may not be strong enough or last long. Try using a hose clamp on a few coils when the spring is relaxed.
Good luck and let us know how it works.

Sticking jack
I have the same problem with one of mine. I can get it to go up by pushing with my hand, so I'm hoping that new springs on that jack may do it. If not, does this have to be sent in to HWH or can my local hydraulic shop do this?

Hose Clamp is good idea. I will let you know but it may be awhile before I get to the project. As it only bothers me when I am leaving a place. And we are planning to be here until the end of the month.

Last year I contacted HWH about rebuilding my jack and they were way behind. I had it done locally in a hydraulic shop and probably for less money, and in only a couple days.
As good as HWH is, they are always behind.

I am at a loss for what new seals will do for a jack that powers down and holds for months. Will do for helping it come back up! I assumed the springs or my pry bar indicate that the springs are not strong enough anymore??/

The seals are in a groove in the jack. As they age they swell. there is no place for the seal to go but tighter in the groove and against the shaft..

You can replace the springs yourself. There are many threads and clever idea on the forum. If it is beyond you any good mechanic can help, for less than a RV shop.

Folks in the lot next to us had the same issue with HWH jacks not coming up. They tried all kinds of things and eventually went to the factory for repairs.
Said the facility was great, the repair punctual and the cost was lower than they expected.
