I have a 16K gvw Ford F-53 chassis with a 2004 Coachmen Mirada 30QB on it. It now has 225 70R 19.5 tires on 8 lug 6 inch wide wheels.
I live near the ocean and their is a drive on beach that I would like the ability to visit. My intensions are to have 2 sets of wheels, 1 set for traveling and 1 set for the beach. I have learned airing down a 19.5 inch tire is a risk of sidewall failure. I live 10 miles from this beach and am willing to take a chance for the pleasure of 7 night stays on the ocean for $150 per year membership fees.
My main question is what is the widest front rim I can run and whats the widest tire I can put on it.
My other question is Where can I buy these items as well as rims the same size as I have 19.5 X 6 inch 8 lug 2004

I have driven on beaches with a larger MH than yours, as long as the sand is packed down you should have no problem with same air pressures you use on roads.
If sand is soft wouldn't matter what size tires you would have you will get stuck.
Large tractor trailers with out box have been stuck, they have the larger tires, in soft sand.

I must air down to 18 psi, Beach/enviornmental police enforced.
The sand is as soft as it gets in some places. You must keep up momentum in certain areas.
On each weekend there are aproximatly 200 to 300 motorhomes some with beach tires and 4 wheel drive but most are stock.

You might want to consider going with some super singles. You could eliminate the duals on the back. Alcoa makes a 19.5 super single rim, it may be a little pricey, but it will work much better off highway. I have lots of experience with super singles on my work vehicle, (ready mix concrete) and they are head and shoulders better off road than when we ran the duals.

A tire wide enough to run at 18PSI would work on the rear but you'd be driving a "Rollar Skate) Which is not legal on the highwy.

A wheel that wide on the front would work,,, ONLY If you make absolute NO attempt to turn right or left.. You could drive straight out and back straight back, but that is all.

Only practical option is what we used to call a "Stone boat" Down on the farm. Basiclly it's a toboggan.. A very big toboggan (Slead) Drive the motor home onto it,, Tow the assembly out over the sand.. Stay on the sled, your wheels never touch sand.. Tow it off and then back off it when on pavement.

I have a 2007 Winnebago Sightseer on Ford chassis. I run 2 beaches on Cape Cod,MA with deep sand. I run polyester sidewall 8R19.5 duals in rear at 22 lbs. I had custom front rims made 20x9 10 lug at Rickson Wheel. I run 35x13.5x20 tires on front at 18lbs. With the weight in the rear at 18lbs, chance of rolling a bead. My friend has 4wheel drive in his 03 Sightseer. Steel belted 19.5 tires aired down will destroy the sidewalls. I'm considering 4 custom 20 inch rims for rear to put on 35's in rear. Polyester sidewall 19.5 tires are no longer made. Michelin I hear has a belt design that is supposed to work. I have air bags in all 4 corners to lift a little for clearance. Just keep your foot out of the pedal. Good luck !

One thing I think needs to be thought of, why not carry a small air compressor?

You could run normal street safe pressure til you get to the sand, then air down, then pump back up when you get back to pavement?

There are 8 air hoses to air up with. Their are 4x4s and RVs in and out all day every day in the summer. The beach is about 4.5 miles and believe it or not it fills up frequently.

You asked a question, you didn't ask that only experts answer, with that attitude good luck the next time you have a question. Fortunately I didn't have an answer for you as I have never intentionally driven on sand, other an army Jeep in chassis deep sand. Did it without airing down, or wider tires. This was the powdery dry stuff at Grayling Mi..

You may know how to drive on sand but your people skills need work.

The wider the tire and the lower the air pressure the better you will do on sand. We used to see a lot of MH on Pizmo Beach, and a lot of them stuck too. A CJ jeep is pretty light and has an easy time on sand. A Blazer is heavy and will need a wider sand tire. I have a YJ now with 12.50 x 15" tires which is great in sand and on rocks with 8 psi. I use a portable viare pump to air up. I also have one in the MH, they have some models which are continuous duty.

Often an aired up tire will spin in sand and dig in. Air down, the tire expands and you can drive out.

I would suspect a MH would behave in a similar manner but remember you only have one drive wheel.
