I think I might have blown a fuse on my windshield wipers on a 1999 National Tropi-Cal (F-53 w/ V10). The Ford mini manual says its located under the dash to the left of the steering wheel and left of the brake pedal.

I have searched about every inch of that area from the window to the cowling cover.....and in contortions that would have made Harry Houdini proud. Only problem, I can't find the sucker.

Any suggestions as to where this thing is located so I can check my wiper fuse?

Mark

From Colorado....in monsoon Portland (definitely need a wiper!)

Look DOWN not up... Lift your dash (some have a strap holding down to the steering column) It may have a cover on it so use a flash light to see better.. little smaller than a cigar box.

I already mistook the computer control box (it certainly looks like the closest "cigar box" looking fuse case under the dash)-- but realized no one in their right mind would make a fuse box that impossible to get to.

So I am with you on diving under the outside hood again and seeing if it is there--

Am still curious if anyone has actually put their hands on the wiper fuse specifically and where they found that.

The fuse panel is exactly where the Ford manual says it is. I have a 99 Dolphin which is exactically like your Tropical in that regard. Look along the sidewall just forward of the leveling control pod. You should see a tan plastic cover that pulls off revealing the fuse panel. Refer to manual for fuse layout.

Thanks Capt-- man, I was making it WAY too hard. For some reason, I checked this briefly and didn't seem like the fuse box. Kept looking more under the dash, near steering, etc.

thanks again--
