Made in USA?

I was washing my mh and noticed a FORD logo stamped on the aluminum wheels. To the right of that was stamped Taiwan. I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

There is NO vehicle that is made of 100% US made parts. Every vehicle has some parts sourced overseas.

Back when I was still working for the WA DOT the legislature passed a law that required a certain % of the vehicle parts be made in the US.
After that we could no longer get Dodge vans but could get Toyota mini pickups. That lasted a couple years till they changed the laws.

One of the TV networks does an occasional "Made in America" segment/show.

They compared a Ford Mini-van with,, I think a Honda (not 100% sure on the "Foreign" make but fairly sure it was Honda) From the COOPER (made in the USA) tires to the top of the ROOF the Foreign car had more American content than the Ford.

Something to think about.

The Ford F-150 has the highest content of American materials. Second, is the Honda Ridgeline (currently not in production until 2016)

The only way The F-150 has the most "American" content is because Canada is figured as part of America. Sad but true.

I know the Chevy Silverado is made in Canada, but Ford is still USA, according to link below:

I guess you could buy Alcoa, if your pockets are deep enough. So far the one that came on the Ford are good enough for me. Dave

Good enough for me too. Just wasn't expecting to see Taiwan stamped next to the Ford logo.

Foreign made is what is the norm these days. Last summer I bought an American flag and it was made in China. I felt offended.

I recently read that China is outsourcing much of its production to North Korea (DPRK.) Even more distressingly, western companies are now outsourcing IT to "Dear Leader." I've resigned myself to all the Chinese stuff. However, supporting DPRK causes me ajita. Things marked "China" may, in fact, have been made in the DPRK. Think about that next time you buy a shiny new toy for your motorhome.

Well you always hear, you can take a Chinese wrench & bend a Taiwanese & then take a Japanese wrench & bend a Chinese wrench, so I guess higher the food chain better the quality.

I can say this, we should always remember Dec 7th 1941, Pearl Harbor, because them ol Japanese boys came over here & kicked the USA tail on that day for just a little while & they are still kicking in a different kind of way, BUT, nobody is paying any attention to what is going on. USA better wake up.

I think you will find China has invested the heaviest in Africa.
