Move Ford E-450 Driver Seat?

I am downsizing from a 35' Class A to a Class C under 30 feet. The Mercedes Sprinter chassis and Ford E-450 chassis seem to be the only chassis choice these days for a Class C in the 24-29 foot length.

The Mercedes chassis has lots of driver leg room but it's cargo carrying capacity is limited. The Ford E-450 chassis has ample cargo carrying capacity but I am 6'-4" tall and find the driver's leg room cramped.

Has anyone with a Ford E-450 chassis found a way to reposition the driver seat to allow for more leg room? Thanks!

I can be done however you'll void the warranty. If you don't care about that, there are hard points where the seat has been affixed to the floor. You'll need to actively reinforce the floor so the seat doesn't rip from its mounts should you be in a collision. Another consideration is if there's enough room behind the seat to move it back Is there a wall? If so, you're out of luck and won't be able to move the seat. I've seen where some have reinforced the floor by welding in a steel plate then bolting the seat to floor.

Before moving the base, look under the seat adjuster. Sometimes the seat can be moved back on it, leaving the base mounting bolts in the factory holes.

Thanks for the replies!

I was hoping someone has found an aftermarket replacement seat base that allows more forward/aft seat travel. That way I could use the existing seat mounting holes in the floor of the coach. In the coaches I am looking at there is room to move the rear seat mounting holes a few inches back and no issue with the drivers seat backrest hitting the slideout when in the travel mode. Keep the ideas coming. Thanks!
