If the caliper is dragging, with your foot off the brake, what would disconnecting the line do for it.

If it's frozen in place and dragging, it's still going to get hot and cook the seals, unless you pry the pistons in and move the caliper.

When I think of large vehicle brake work, I don't usually think 'Camping World.' I'd choose a truck repair way before CW. Let us know how it works out for you. Good luck!

Yup--good news is, CW can get you in tomorrow----bad news is, CW can get you in tomorrow.....Wouldn't recommend CW for anything except maybe toilet tissue, and after recent comments by the CEO, I am reconsidering that too......

Agreed, I ordered some stuff a day before he made his comments. Now I need to find somewhere else to shop.

Well you guys are so right about CW. WOW did they try to screw me to the wall. After 3 hours of diagosing exactly what I told him was wrong they wanted $131 for a caliper, I just bought one at NAPA for $69. Then $390 for labor for one caliper. And of course the 2 year old pads with less than 2k miles will certainly be bad so another $119 for one pair. WOW. I paid the agreed upon $64.50 diag fee and we left. We made the 200 mile trip home with no problems at all. I will be replacing it as well as the other 2 just for my own peace of mind as we are doing a 5k trip in November.

So no more CW ever for me.

So the question is reman calipers or new?

Thank you all for the help and advice, very helpful knowing I ca always get good info here.

Rebuilds are fine. Just flush the brake fluid every 2 years.

It's in the Ford service manual for Class A motorhomes. Way in the back, in fine print.

I just changed both frount calibers both flex lines and pads. 17 miles from buying the mh it had an issue.
Got it all from auto zone only issue was driver side flex hose was to short .had to order 2 passenger side and used that on driver side only diff was where the caliber line clip fits, flipped it over and went on .
Also changed the wheel bearing on the side that got hot .
Shop the insurance towing took us too charged us 165 and said they don't see any trouble.just some rust on rotors .your good to go.

Make sure to flush the old brake fluid.

We are going to the Offshore World Championships in Key West. We drive right by the race track in Homestead FL.
