Need coolant hoses.
It is time to change the radiator hoses on my 1999 F53 chassis. I found them at local a Ford dealer. They want $170.00. for the lower hose.I am thrifty. (O.K. maybe cheap.) It just kills me to pay such an outrageous price for one rubber hose. Has anyone found a better price for Ford Motorcraft hoses.

Try Rock Auto you do get a choice of vendors its not al that difficult to change hoses just don't buy off shore hose or belts for that matter

I remember purchasing that hose years ago. We had a 1999 and I wanted to carry spares just in case. I think at that time it was in the $60 range. I left it in the bay when we sold it.
It's still not a bad idea to replace it but keep the old one just in case. Even an old spare is better than a blown hose and waiting on road service.
If a guy is creative, and I am (to save many bucks), I'd make a replacement from some maybe PVC fittings and some straight reinforced radiator hoses. I think I remember what that $170 hose looked like and it could be made.

I purchased hoses for 1999 Bounder F53 V10 from Amazon
Motorcraft KM4360 $96.65
Dayco 72026 $14.41 I think this Upper if memory serves me right.

Thanks ChasL: people like you are why I love IRV2. I just ordered my hoses. 96.65 is a lot but not nearly as outrageous as $170.00

Rock Auto has Dayco lower I think it was 37.00. Don't remember for sure. I wanted Ford and needed in hurry and I get free shipping with Amazon. Glad to help.

I saw that on Rock Auto. The reason I did not go with Dayco is because a customer complained the lower Dayco hose was not the same as Ford and did not fit. He used the upper Dayco hose, but returned the lower hose. Like you I wanted to use Ford. I liked ford because my hoses are 17 years old and still feel good. I usually change every ten years, but I got lazy and started just checking the hoses every few months.

Don't forget about the heater hoses and the 1" hose attached to the recovery bottle and bottom radiator header. The 1" hose is not available from Ford, I used 1" straight heater hose and ran it so it would not kink. There is also a 5/16" hose (I think that's the size) that goes from the top radiator header to the recovery bottle.
When I replaced my hoses a couple of years ago, got them from Amazon. I first ordered them from a local parts store. They ordered the wrong bottom hose, was for a pickup. It fit except the oil cooler hoses were too short.
