Still wishing Ford would offer the 6.7 Powerstroke for the RV chassis. That and the Liquid Springs suspension would be about half the cost of the jump from an Open Road gas to a RED.

I do too, although the I see why they avoid it. The engine weighs 500 lbs more than the v10 plus emissions gear, then you need a diesel generator too. So your probably looking at 1000 lbs less payload. probably at least 15k more cost and more attentions has to be paid to air flow and heat shielding. Still I think it would be a good option.
Honestly though I am pretty happy with gas and the 7.3L looks like a real winner, simple, more power ,better economy what's not to like.

Perhaps the most notable improvement will be due to the 10 speed gearbox.
It will be interesting to see the HP and TQ numbers when published.

A little more info: Send an email to a friend who is a Ford plant manager to see what he could tell me about the "upgraded center of gravity capability" on the 2020 F53. Was it was top secret and to check back later this fall.
Job One one the 2020 F53 chassis is 12/16/2019

My understanding is 10 speed 10R140 up through F600 including F53 motorhomes then 6 speed for F650 and up for now.

I think you'd want a "downgraded center of gravity." (joke.)
I wonder if there's any chance the doghouse hump will be lower.
If I were younger (And richer. And smarter. And better looking,) I'd go to Subaru and ask for a turbo gas flat eight engine, that would fit in a modified (front independently suspended) chassis and try to pedal that to the Class A manufacturers. But cynical me suspects the manufacturers don't want anything TOO good, or it would cut into their DP sales.
(Motorhome Magazine called the V-10 engine "thrashy." Exactly my thoughts on every mountain pass in Colorado.)

Straight front axle and rear leaf springs. Still a truck chassis and in and RV will ride like a truck.

Hey, if the design was good enough for a 1929 coal delivery truck, it's good enough for a $150,000 motorhome.
Is what I always say.

It would be nice when coming out with a new chassis if Ford would see fit to build a pusher chassis with their diesel engine as an option.

I saw some posts on here months back that was discussing rumors around a front engine diesel. Thought that would be interesting. Weakness really is the suspension though.

The center of gravity change doesn't amount to a hill of beans after the coach manufacturer piles on all kinds of stuff on top of it.

Didn't Tiffin do that with the early versions of the Breeze?

If center of gravity upgrade means stiffer sway bars or a rear trackbar, then it will be more than a hill of beans, but who knows with a cryptic description like that.
