Compared to stock, you will love it. When my motor was self-destructing, I went back to stock. The transmission did weird things. Almost like it was always hunting for the right gear and turned into a mush box.

Are you saying that you think this tune was what made your motor and transmission go south on you?

No I don't. I made the same trip two weeks before that and all was fine. I was using the 87 octane tow tune. It has a little more aggressive timing and fuel curve, along with firmer shifts. In other words, it ran like the factory should have made it run like. What I meant about the transmission, was that with the stock tune, it was searching and mushy.
With the 5 Star, you can change the transmission line pressure and shift points.
Here's a chart with the options. There may be more or different names and/or values.

Phew! The way it was worded earlier made me nervous. Not knowing what values do what, I'll just keep notes on how it's doing during the trip and report back to Mike. If he hears something he thinks he can improve he'll email me a revised tune to try out.

Sorry, that could have been confusing the way I worded it.

Looks like the warranty company is going with a new motor, instead of fixing the old one. Only had 16k on it. The service manager at repair place is just that; a manager. He appears to be clueless about the workings of a MH.

Phoenix American, issued by National Casualty Company, a member of the Nationwide group. The Roadside Assistance is provided by Road America. Take it for what it's worth, but several people have told me they were the best for warranty claims.

Save your money. Diesels cost more to buy and more to service. Run the numbers on how much gas you can buy for the $30K more you'll spend on the pusher. Oil and generator service is 3 times the cost for a gasser. Unless you want to tow a 10K lb. vehicle, the extra 1 to 2 mpg and fuel costs don't make sense.
The answer to the mpg problem is speed, weight and wind resistance. The weight is constant (10 to 12 tons) so you have to control speed. Less speed = less wind resistance. I can consistently get 8+ mpg at 55 to 60 mph on my 2010 Winnebago 37F. Running at 65 mph yields 7.5 or less.
