2000 Gulf Stream, Sun Voyager, F53 chassis, 6.8L – Engine starts and idles fine, but loses power or dies when you try to move. If throttle is operated very slowly, you can get moving and up to about 2k rpm’s, or 30 mph. Above that, it loses power and dies. Background- Yesterday was our third time out on a trip. No problems before. It was the first time driving it in the rain, and what a rain storm it was! I see a fix for water ingestion, so tomorrow I will check to see if the air filter is or looks like it was wet. If so, I’ll get the air intake from Ford and hope that’s a fix. If it wasn’t wet, I hope someone reading this has seen it before and can suggest a remedy. Thanks for any help.

Sure sounds like a water ingestion problem. Bet that filter is soaked. Be sure and let us know.

Yes, that was it- the filter was soaked with water. I'm so thankful and glad to have a relatively easy, inexpensive fix. See you on the road!
