I have a 2005 E450 chassis (Winnebago Aspect). During the last 50 miles of our last trip the Scangauge II quit working. When I got home I unplugged the scangauge and moved it to my wife's car and it worked fine.
I checked the Ford manual for fuse location but am not sure what I'm looking for, didn't see anything listed for computer readout or OBD II. There are two fuse boxes, one under the dash and the other in the engine compartment.
Anybody have any insight on the proper fuse to check? Everything else seems to be working fine.

I have had the same problem with my Scan Gauge II also. I unplugged it sprayed some contact cleaner in the plug under the dash, and in the cable also. Haven't had a problem with it since. I had to reset it several times before I tried the contact cleaner.

I think it was an expensive toy as far as I am concerned now.

Contact cleaner! Why didn't I think of that? That may be the reason my goes all weird on me sometimes and I have to reset it! I have never driven 1800 miles and used 1400 gallons of gas in one day... ever!

That was one of the first things that showed up on mine. also getting 915mpg was another adventure. Also driving 85 mph in the parking lot of a rest area on U.S. 395.

The scanguage gets its power from the cigarette lighter fuse. On my 2002 Ford, the fuse block is under the hood. If you open the front hood, the box is straight ahead. The fuse is one of the large fuses about 1 inch wide. I think its number 21 or 22. You may have to go to an auto parts store for a fuse instead of Wal-Mart.

Yep, that was it. I know what happened now. We had a small inverter plugged into the cig lighter and it must have been too much for the fuse.
The fuse was number 26 on the block, but in the underdash fusebox.
Thanks for the help!

Good to know re: the inverter. If my Scangauge quits, I'll know what to look for. Its been 100% reliable in my Supercrew for the last two years, so we'll see.
