We have a 1999 Winnebago Brave on the Ford v10 chassis. Yesterday when driving it back to storage I notice a scrubbing noise in the steering column when turning. The noise sounds like the steering wheel rubbing on the plastic on the column. Anyone else experience this?

Welcome to the forum!

If your tire is rubbing, it should leave rub marks, which should be easy to see.
One of my cars has tires that rub the shocks when I turn to full lock. The shocks get shiny at the rub spot.

It's actually not the tires but the base of the steering wheel seems to be rubbing on the column almost as if it needs to be realigned or lubricated. Starting all of a sudden after a short trip when we were driving back to store it. Did make some hard turns but wouldn't expect that to cause the steering wheel to start making noise.

Had the same problem once, it was the rubber boot near the bast of the column. It mostly happened when cold and only when making large turns as in a parking lot.

A small amount of WD-40 did wonders, never heard it again.
