There may be a torque value for the oil drain plug but I have always just snug tighten the drain plug on any engine and haven't lost or had one leak yet in over 60 years

ihbond, if your oil plug has an o-ring (the newer V10's do, I have one) you can just snug it up as RVhauler mentioned and it won't leak. I have other vehicles where if I don't replace the gasket or torque it just right it leaks, but not the motor home.

I always torque as I hate to stretch the threads..Sure I can snug it..Just believe in torquing it...thanks for suggestion though!

If it has the o-ring then I would assume it has a rubber ring around the bolt head?

Well if anyone has the specs let me know..
Thanks

I did my own fist oil change on ours and the plug had a small white dab of paint on it with a corresponding dab on the pan, it's still there, I just hand tightened it back to match the dot doing the same every oil change, 67k miles on coach and no leaks and plug still intact.

I installed one of those locking valves since I figured I'd be changing the oil pretty often. I even put a length of hose on it and have it loosly secured with three tie wraps to the frame and a rubber plug in the end to keep dirt out. Changing the oil is faster and easier and I don't have to think about stripping the oil pan

The oil pan drain plug on a V-10 torque is 11-16 Nm or 98-143 Lb/In.

Was just about to call the stealership.. I torqued it at 15 Nm..So looks like I am ok then..

I like the idea of quickvalve but still like the magnet better to help me visualize and grab some of the fine shavings..
