The only way to get double digit mileage with the V10 is go down hill all of the time.

I was getting 9 to 12 highway MPG on my 2001 Adverturer 35U before Ethanol however after Ethanol it is 7 to 9 highway MPG at speeds below 65 MPH. The newer coaches being taller now should have an ever greater drop in MPG especially when running over 60 MPH.
How you have it loaded will make a difference too. If you have the coach weighed you may be shocked at how far overweight or unevenly loaded you may be. Balancing the load and then inflating the tires to carry that weight can make a big difference in fuel economy.

I don' want to rub salt into the wound but research here would have also revealed that most salesman LIE. Salesmen are NOT your friend,. They have one goal...Sell you something. Many don't care about how they sell you or why you buy. Posted for other future buyers benefit.
It is not Ford's fault you were mislead.

Way too many variables, ie; terrain, headwind/s, speed, weight of toad, etc. We get 7-8 mpg consistently with a 38' Challenger towing a Jeep Wrangler. We didn't expect more when we purchased the MH, however.

I generally cruise at 62-64mph with no toad. I have 63K on "Hoppie" and get 7-8mpg, but usually around 7.5 per my GPS. My V10 is the older two valve and runs like a hose. No problems in 13 years....Synthetic oil and a filter every 9,000-10,000 miles and away we go....

That sure is a blanket comment if I have ever hear one concerning all of the 115 CW locations. Perhaps a more appropriate comment is, "Let the buyer beware." One can get ripped off just about anywhere if you allow it to happen.
Do your research. Get your facts straight. Understand what you are buying. Learn some technical aspects of what you are purchasing. Ask good questions. Don't accept the answers you get if you think it is a salespersons answer. Then ask more questions. Then accept the results because ultimately YOU made the final decision.

Most 18 wheelers these days are getting 6-8mpg with the newer motors, transmissions and skirts. The toterhome we use, in general, gets about 8mpg with the cruise on 68mph and the AC on "keep the corpses fresh".
That said, the trailer sits A LOT lower to the ground than a normal 18 wheeler, and is even with the toter height-wise. That makes a big difference. Regardless, people are shocked when you tell them the mileage figures, but on a pound-per-mpg basis, we are generally moving 70k in equipment down the road.
As previously mentioned, salesmen are notorious liars. Theyre pretty much even with lawyers and politicians. The V10, for all the good things it is known for, is not known for being a fuel sipper.

600 miles on 80 gallon tank. Do the math. Salesmen lie about 40% of the time. That is about what I get 600 miles plus or minus a little on 80 gal.
