Our running temps with a F53 V10 POLL

Background...
To give you an idea of our latest driving conditions, temps and terrain, we left Texas in late May of this year, are currently in central Florida, and so far this year we've been traveling around the entire southern region of the Gulf Coast area.

I have a Scangauge II and our coach pretty consistently runs a temp of about 207-214 once warmed up and we're underway down the highway. The dash gauge is always right in middle where it should be and we have never had any over heating issues.

I'm very anal about maintenance and I had the entire cooling system flushed and new Motorcraft Gold Coolant replaced 1 year ago. Our coach runs great in every respect. Obviously a F53 w/22K miles.

We're going to be going to New Mexico for the winter, and then explore a lot of higher elevation areas (6K-8K feet or higher) once spring hits and probably travel in that general area for the summer and fall.

My question and POLL...
So I'm posting this POLL just to get an idea if most of you all run about these same temps or are they much different. I'm trying to get a sense of if our coach is the "NORM" as far as temps goes.

Please just answer the best you can if you have a F53 V10.

Sorry. I was trying to post an actual POLL, but when I got that area to fill out those fields, I realized I had to change my titles and restructure poll. I went to delete this post and redo it and it wouldn't let me. So please just answer the best you can with this post.
Jeeze.

2004 F53 (2 valve)

ECT, as seen on ScanGauge: 191° - 193° until it's really hot out or heavily loaded and/or going slow.

I added an airdam under the radiator, though. It used to run much hotter, the fan would kick in for example at an 80° ambient going 70 MPH down the freeway. To me, a 70 MPH wind coming through the grill ought to be enough to cool it. Without the airdam, lots of air was just going under the motorhome, not through the radiator.

A little Googling suggest the 2 and 3 valves use the same temperature thermostat, but I couldn't find a definitive source. Probably worth looking into.

My temp gauge runs in the middle. Ultra Gage shows 201 to 206 on flat road on an 80 degree day. The fan clutch seams to come on around 208 and will drop the temperature quickly. The highest I have seen was 214 pulling a long 8000ft grade. Not sure what the outside temperature was. The fan kicked in and it cooled down right away. If your fab clutch is working you should be good.

With our Canyon Star (3 valve F53) I would monitor Cylinder Head temp on the ScanGauge, one of the custom x-gauges. Normal CHT was about 205 running flat and level. Climbing moderate grades CHT would approach 225. The worst I ever saw was on a grade in MA that required extended first gear operation, CHT reached 250 degrees for a few minutes.

Normal water temp was 195, 205 when climbing grades. I didn't look at it when the CHT was at 250, I was monitoring the transmission temp also and never changed it to see the water temp.

The "gauge" that Ford provided never moved off center in any of these situations, so evidently Ford thought all these temps were normal.

I remember reading on this site years ago that someone had experienced some kind of engine failure that Ford attributed to excessive cylinder head temp, which is why I monitored that instead of the water temp.

OBD2 coolant temp reading on my 2015 Vista, with 5 star 87 Octane Engine Tune (Ford F53 w 5 spd) consistently runs in the 198 - 202 F range.

Early on I had false readings and limp modes happen a couple of times, Read on here about technical bulletin. Took it to the ford dealer and they changed the thermostat housing and bypass hose routing. Since then mine runs 201 to 205 and dose not very. Just for the record the changes to the thermostat were in 2010 And were only on the 2006 to 2009 V10.

Running an 06 3 valve V10, I also had the false overheat, and woud constantly see temps of 235...and then limp mode. Fixed in 07, and now water temps run 202 -207. Never have seen CHT exceed 214, even on 6-7% grades. Added 5 star tune last year.

I did a 30 minute test drive yesterday after putting my V10 back together. (Removed heads to drill out broken exhaust studs)

I was watching the temperature on the gauge and the Torque app running on my smart phone.

It stayed between 201 and 205.. I was on the freeway and never heard the fan clutch kick in
