Overdrive Stalk Lamp....

The overdrive lamp does not light up (off) on the Stalk when pressing the end button. The gearbox changes as normal and kicks down when button pressed and back up when pressed again.

Have checked the bulb and it works. Is there a fuse for this or anything else which needs checking.

A very common problem with the F53 is the small wires going up into the shift lever break right where they enter the shift lever. On mine the OD button was intermittent.

I repaired it by pulling the wires out, re-soldering the broken wires, then feeding them back down the shift lever.

It won't do MACH 2, but I can get a sandwich and take a pee.

I have had the steering to bits to fit new gear change bushes and dash selector bracket. Also fitted a new gearbox selector switch.

So hopefully looking like the feed to Stalk,

Thanks

Update
Broken wire just as it entered the gear Stalk.

Thank you for helping solve this.

New to our 1st RV, a 1999 Rexhall, F53 with 22k. Also, a bit of a forum novice but getting better (I actually posted a picture in another post).
Brought it home to Reno over I80 and sure wished the OD On/Off button had worked climbing over Donner. I was happy with the way it did work but missed having the control to shift on demand.
Anyway, from reading this post I'll be looking at the wire that's mentioned but before I do that perhaps someone who's done it can tell me how much I'll have to do to access the said wire?? Easy, hard, tools, a previous post? Any help will be appreciated.
