Overheat issue

I have a weird problem and want to see if anyone has had same problem. If I let the engine idle for over 15 min. After stoping I have a overheat issue and will have to wait 20 mins. or so to restart. I have replaced the themostat and this has not corrected the issue. The engine does not overheat going down the road even when I tow my truck. The problem seems to be worse when I use the heater. I am not losing any coolant and it is a overheat issue and not a gauge issue. I have begun to think that the clutch fan may be the problem. The unit is a 2011 Coachman Mirada, 35 with v-10 engine on 53 chassis. I have had no problems with the engine during it's 25,000 miles. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why are you letting it idle for 15 minutes? Sounds like the air flow over the radiator is being restricted except when moving forward. You could add a thermostatically controlled electric fan to the radiator front. If you've ever had a vehicle tested for an inspection or on a dynamiter they always roll an electric fan in front of the radiator to aide in cooling while running sitting still.

If the reason you have to wait for 20 minutes to start is the starter won't crank the engine, the most likely problem is the starter solenoid is getting heat soaked. Replace the solenoid and install a heat shield on the starter.

I would suspect that fan clutch you only need the fan when not moving which sounds like what is going on with your unit lee
