Just wanted to report back... I changed all the soft brake hoses (at each wheel, plus the one from chassis to rear axle) and all hard lines on the rear axle and the 15' long hard line from front to rear on the chassis.

I must say, I am very glad I did this project - both the main axle hard line (from one side to the other) and a short axle hard line (from tee to left hose) were extremely fragile. After removing them, I could easily bend & break them with two fingers. Nothing was leaking yet, but I'd say it was only a matter of time. The long line wasn't quite as bad, but I could see it was on its way too.

As far as I know our rig spent all of its time in Florida until we bought it, though I have no solid proof other than the CarFAX. At any rate, all I can say is even if you think your rig has never been exposed to road salt, that doesn't mean it has no corrosion on vital components underneath. Do yourself (and everyone) a favor and get under there and examine things closely.

Somewhere around 10 years I like to refresh hoses and belts if they have made it that far. Round numbers are easy to remember. (-:

My sister lived in FL for the last 20 years. Nothing and I mean nothing that will rust has a very long life in FL. The salt air is awful to all exposed metal. Most grills lasted maybe 4-6 years. Her last Grill was maybe 3-4 years old the tank fell out of the bottom.
