Hey, all -
For those who have the Crossfire pressure equalization system for your rear duals, have you had any problems with the hoses being abraded or chafed, etc., from where the hoses pass through the holes in the wheels and/or wheel covers? We've got a Damon Daybreak with 19.5" wheels and covers, and we had a bad experience with some flexible valve extenders (metal braided). Granted, they were installed incorrectly by the dealer (go figure!), but before I take the plunge on a set of Crossfires I wanted to ask and see if anyone had had any problems with your Crossfires and, if you did, what fixes you found.
Thanks!!
Mike

I checked to see if the Crossfire would work on our 2007 Ford chassis with aluminum wheels. I was assured they would. When they arrived there was no possibe way to mount and use them on the aluminum wheels. So I ended up paying the shipping both ways to get my money back.

I don't like putting anything on the valve stems that could cause a leak other than pressure monitors. You really don't need to equalize the dualls unless you are very anal and then you must fight the feeling. Thats my thought on the subject and I have gone 100,000 miles without a flat, leak or blowout.

Shoot. I'm not terribly eager to put anything on the valve stems, either, but I have yet to figure out how to get air into the inside wheels. The front wheels aren't a problem, and I can reach the inside stems, although (in lieu of something like the Crossfires) I'd be sorely tempted to get some solid valve extensions to "turn" them and make them more accessible.
But the inside wheels have me stymied. I can't get to the valves with an angled chuck. I haven't tried a straight chuck yet, but from the look of it I'm not sure that will work, either, as the inner stem seems to be aimed at an angle that has it pointing more toward axle center rather than toward the hole in the wheel. While we're out and about today I may try to pick one up and see if it'll reach when I check on the beast at the storage lot. Grrr!

I have had Crossfires on since Feb O4 without any problems. I also have Pressure Pro and would not be without this combo. Its makes life easy in knowing the dual pressure is equalized and not having to kneel to put on a gauge. When I do add air its very simple, one place to fill both tires. In fact I left on long trip in April and have not had to add air since. I love these discussion groups with some posters always bad mouth Pressure Pro and Crossfires.

This may be an expression of ignorance here (I'm a total n00b - we've only been RVing since this August!), but I thought that one of the mounting options was a bracket that was supposed to go on one of the lug bolts? Will that not work with the aluminum wheel covers? Another option is supposedly to rivet/bolt one of the brackets to the wheel cover, but I'd prefer to avoid that, if at all possible...

Mike, I have not had any rub through problems with my Crossfires. The Crossfire is capped with a TST 507 TPMS sensor.
