How many of us Ford chassis owners have received the re-call notice on the CC switch? It is Aug 24 and I for one have not received a notice. Just curious before I call the Ford Cust Service number. I am definitely in the year brackets of re-call.

I have not received a letter either. I bought it when it was a few months old and thus the second owner so maybe FMC doesn't have my info ???

You can go to the website and punch in your VIN and it supposed to tell you if you are included in the recall... I tried it and I got an error each time telling me to contact my dealer
Here's the site --> http://www.ford.com/en/vehicles/owne...ls/default.htm

I just had the recall done today. Like the Dometic ref recall, I found out about it here and on other forums and made appointments before I got the notice by mail. Both times I had no problems getting service on the recalls.

DAVE T: I am curious as to whether your FORD garage will normally service a motor home. None with in 70-100 miles around here will. Still no re-call notice here yet.

To get the recall information, you have to go to the commercial truck site. Use this link to recall and click on recall, then enter your VIN where indicated. I got Recall ID 05S28

We didn't receive any "official" recall notice, but when I took the coach to the local Ford truck garage for servicing they inspected the cruise control switch and added the fusible link.

Upon inspection if they find the switch is leaking they replace it with one with a built in fiusible link. If it's not leaking they add a fusible link between the existing harness and the existing switch.

Homer,

I've talked with both the Ford Dealerships in my close area about working on the motorhome, and both said they would gladly. One has a shop that the motorhome fits into, the other works on it in the lot. I trust them both as I use them for my department's Fords and know most of the mechanics. They even let me look over their shoulder. :-)

I also have the option of a Ford Truck Center close by too.

DAVE T: Thanks for the reply. I found I am on the re-call, now will have to find a Ford agency service department to do the fix. Will look for a Ford truck dealer.

I've not received the recall yet either. But it is on my list of things to do before putting it away for the winter.

HEMI: Click on the header "Ford Motorhome Chassis Forum", just on top of your post, or just go to that forum. This will take you to all the information. The second item down from the top will give you a link where you can check your VIN # to see if you are on the re-call. "CC" stands for "cruise control".
