Remote Transmission Filter Change

I had my transmission serviced at ford 30k service, for whatever reason they failed to change the remote transmission filter. Has anyone changed their own? If so anything to be aware of? It looks similar to an oil filter, hoping to change it myself if i can.

Yes. I don't use the standard replacement filter which is like a roll of TP. I used this:

It wasn't easy finding but I managed to years ago and purchased several.

I think the "forums" recommended using a impact wrench to get it loose the first time.

apparently the Ford Tech didn't know there was one either. Per my 06 chassis manual it should be changed at 30,000 miles along with a tranny flush. I would be curious to know if you lose any fluid when you change your filter?

Maybe a cup or so, whatever is in the filter can. It will keep dripping too so have the next one ready.
