scbuchholz -- I also was upset at the idea of having to replace brand new Bilstein shocks with the Koni FSDs in order to get a much smoother ride over broken concrete highways and poor road surfaces. I was happy with the RV Newmar built for me; so for long run happiness when driving I decided to spend what it takes to improve the F53s ride and handling. I enjoy driving and the RV is now a pleasure instead of a chore and even with strong cross winds I can drive relaxed and enjoy the view.
Hendersons in Grants Pass, OR is a good stop if you want a fix for your driving or handling problems. Redlands Truck and RV sells their stuff and told me that Blue Ox was still making revisions to it's front steering stabilizer system and recommend the safety steer system from Henderson. Redlands had swapped the Blue Ox to the safety steer for a few of their customers due to their problems with the earlier versions of the Blue Ox system.
I took a test drive in a Newmar Essex at the FMCA Indio, CA rally and observed that it also has bumps and jarring movements on the poor roads that were the same as I had experienced when driving my 2012 Baystar. The suspension improvements did the job and I would not have to spend more money trying to make it handle and ride better, for example a Kelderman air suspension for the F53.
