ClassyClassA......
Look at the fuel trims and see if the engine is running lean. Mine was because some of the vacuum hoses had split and was adding extra unmetered air.

All “look” good but I’ll recheck carefully. Thank you.

Just swapped out all of the spark plugs. I’ve never seen so many rusty spark plugs!!! The rust is on all of the threads on 5 of the plugs and the hex-part is very rusty too. Even the electrode is rusty on one of them! It’s a wonder this motor even runs. I’m going to concentrate on this and fuel quality before buying $1g worth of coils.

Classy,
I'm not positive but I think that the heads are aluminum and as such the copper never seize may create corrosion problems. I know on aluminum boats copper/brass can create issues. Maybe someone with more knowledge can supply more information. Good luck getting it running better.

I recently changed the COPS for #2 and #6; with a trip in the next week calendar, did NOT try the spark plugs for (fear of) stripping, but between the COP spring being totally rusted onto the cap of #2 plug (who would expect that???), (had to unwind to remove), and the welded AC pipe BRACKET being directly over the COP, it took 2-4-hours to change that #2 plug (wiring harness had to be unbolted and pushed aside too) I installed new $9 COPS (x2) from Rock Auto, and took my trip to Missouri and Chicago and back to TN. AFTER return, checked for codes and had ZERO count for spark miss on all cylinders, so I am happy for now. Gonna order a few more COPS as spares for the toolbox.

(From what I read, and have seen on mine) the PCV valve hose has a U-bend hose & fitting at the manifold at center of engine that is subject to heat damage and cracking, remove, clean well w/ SIMPLE GREEN and rag, inspect/ replace or reinstall; check all others one-at-a-time. My dash damper controls fail to move, so suspect I have a problem I need to track, but believe this is a small, rigid plastic tubing on mine.

Maybe someone can enlighten us on the water/ plug rust issue as either 1) condensation or 2) road mist (seems it would evaporate quick on a hot engine); 3) some type of head leak? or 4) Heater hose leak (have read (some fitting) adjacent to (some) plugs, and a loose clamp/ bad hose can spray a small mist on a plug with a hot pressurized engine, BUT that I can see could accumulate water/ antifreeze in the spark plug well when you shut down the engine, and then give a big miss when later started????

Here is situation, last time out I filled tank on way back to storage, may be 3-5 gallons below full, I did not add stabil or drier to that tank. That gas is now in there about 2 months. I reported that I had this issue before of rough running and stumbling, seems like it was always after storage and usually stopped on first new gas stop, therefor I assumed gas as the offending item. Again, many here said no, just a coincidence.
I will put a few cans of dry gas in next visit, and see if that clears up issue. But still thinking about the possible advantages to be gained by changing plugs and COP since, although only 43,000 miles, are 14+ years old.
Keep suggestions coming.

E-85 GAS is a MAJOR problem
It does nothing but cause problems
Anyone that tells you different does not know what they are talking about
It can go bad in very short time.
I always spend the extra money and add the fuel treatment prior to parking it for the winter. I also make sure the fuel tank is FULL.

If your budget allows 100% I would replace all plugs. I would also consider having a spare coil pack on hand. I also carry many spare parts with me..... COIL - PLUGS - LOWER RAD HOSE - BELT - GEN SET FUEL PUMP. Our MH is New and these parts should not be needed. If they are I can do the repair myself and not ruin my family vacation

I too was afraid of changing the plugs for fear of stripping them and proceeded to blow a plug out because I didn’t.
Go ahead and change them all! They will come out just fine. I ordered Iridiums from Rockauto for $3.99 each and I’m getting a $3.00 rebate per plug back! Just make sure you use anti-seize and torque them to 21# (a little higher so they don’t rattle loose and ruin what little threads you have).
