Safe T Plus

Just wanted to tell everyone about what great warranty service this company is doing for owners. One year ago I purchased a new to me Thor Windsport 32n with 1300miles. I made an appointment with a local truck service garage to get the front end alignment done and a Safe T Plus installed. Little did I know they didn't know how to correctly install the Safe T Plus and they messed up the unit and it never functioned as I expected by helping center my coaches driving experience. I returned three times with little improvement. I recently attended a seminar at the National FMCA rally in Indianapolis and listen to a presentation on Safe T Plus . After the seminar I spoke with the speaker and said my unit doesn't work like he described. He said it must be out of adjustment and one of his installers would check it out for me. It just so happened that due to my wife having had surgery on her eyes I had to leave the rally early to get back home. I get a phone call from a young man(Jacob) who was looking for my coach. I said it is 300 miles from you at my home. Then after visiting with him I find that they are going to Forest City from Indianapolis on Sunday afternoon. I mentioned where I lived which is on the route to the rally in Forest City. He talked with his boss and called me back and I met them at the interstate exit near my home and they came to my coach and in 30 seconds diagnosed my problem as a damaged unit due to improper installation. 20 minutes later old unit and mounting bracket removed and new unit and bracket installed. Then after road testing and three adjustments I have a working Safe T Plus unit. I asked how much for all their effort and he said nothing as warranty covered it all. Very surprised at this kinda service.

I've heard other similar stories like this with this company. They were very helpful with my install as well. This kind of service today is so rare and is quite refreshing when you read a report like this. It's the way it should be.

It is nice to hear great things from a company.

Can you tell me about adjustments?

I am about to have a Safe-T-Steer installed on my motor home and thought once installed, properly, there was nothing else to do. I have never read about adjusting it.

Thank you and glad to hear you are all squared away......ain't it a great feeling?

Indy Glenn,

If you Google Safe-T-Plus you will see the instructions and several YouTube videos on installation and adjustments.

Just finished my adjustment

I needed to do a bit of fine tuning on mine after 1 year of use. Had some drift to the right. The wife and I reviewed the online video and hit the interstate. Ran down the road and pulled into a truck stop after marking the proper location for the wheel as they depicted. I loosened the clamping bolts as prescribed taking the tension off the stabilizer and it immediately retracted to its neutral position (about maybe 1/8 inch?) I tightened the bolts back to the desired ft lbs. Driving back down the interstate the wheel was perfectly centered with no drift. A very easy adjustment. Hardest part was crawling under and not burning myself on the exhaust pipe. Just needed a little caution and it all went well.

I'm convinced the Safe T Plus saved us last month when we were run off the road at high speed in NC by an oncoming car (texting driver?). I still pucker looking at the dash cam video. I'm an absolute Safe T Plus believer!
