Socket Size for Lug Nuts?

Hello everyone, I need your help.

I have Thor MH on 22.5" aluminum wheels, F53 chassis. I'd like to get a deep wall socket to check the torque myself.

I called Thor - not much help at all on this question - and then Ford Tech Support, who said on the drawings it was 32MM.

Before I buy more stuff for my new toy , is 32MM the size you use?

Don't know the socket size. I have a 2013 manual but it only lists torque specs which you know is 450 #-LBS.

I've looked some to find a reasonable TW that will go up higher than the usual 150. Any help would be appreciated.

JD11, I checked my socket last night and it is 33mm so I when out this morning to double check and the lug nuts are 33mm. And yes the torque spec's are 450 Ft lbs. Do a search for Torque Multiplier and you will fine a lot of choices.
Here is a link to one on ebay that's not too pricey that will do up to 500 ft lbs.

You also need a socket to get off the caps. they are much bigger. Even a tire place had a hard time finding the right socket, but eventually did.

Yes if you do not have the removal tool it takes a 1 7/16" (40MM) socket to get the caps off.

33 mm for the lug nuts, the chrome covers are to be removed first. Trying to use a socket with the cover still on will probably break it.
I carry a torque multiplyer, but the present rig has huge tires (front and tag are 365/70's on 10" wide rims, drive are 315/80's) and I really hope I never have to take them off myself!
My torque multiplyer is a Proto and I traded it for a personal protection device some years ago. Gives me 500 lbs ft with only 156 lbs ft on the wrench.

Good info. Had not seen the torque multiplier before. We boondock camp quite a bit. Might be handy to at least get the wheel off and then go find someone to replace the tire if needed. I'm going to assume that Good Sam does not provide tire service out in the boonies or at least difficult to get someone out.

Correction the socket to get the caps off should be a 1 9/16", one of those senior moments.

The chassis and tires shops that I go to use a lug nut removal tool that will not scratch or break a lug nut cover.

Can't say that about using a heavy duty metal socket.

Lug sizes vary from rig to rig but for 22.5 rims most are 33MM or 1 and 5/16 inches. Many dual lugs require a deep-well socket to get fully on to the nut--deep-well socket works well on both front and back.....

The cover remover will be at a truck stop, Harbor Freight or truck dealer. It looks like the one pictured below and posted earlier but not as heavily made as it's for non commercial use. Cost is about $10 as HF as I remember.

Some clarification, the Ford aluminum wheels do not have caps on each lug nut. There is a trim ring covering the lug nuts held on by two removal nuts with chrome covers that have to be screwed off. See picture below.
JD11,you should have a tool like the one in the picture below some where in you coach.
