I must be triple guilty. I bought my first motorhome in 1974. I have used the furnace while driving, for 43 years, and no problems. I am a owners manual reader. None of the coach's I have owned had a warning about using the furnace underway.

But in a big box like a MH, not such a problem.

Well that's 2 errors then.

First, the issue with dash HVAC is the volume of air it can move more than the BTU's it produce. Leaving it on outside air but opening the rearmost roof vent will give you many times more heat or cooling since you're then vacuuming the air out the back which forces more air out the dash vents.

Secondly, even with a small car, the HVAC set to recirc cannot, and does not, a) close the air outlets ports in the body, or, b) completely seal the inlets anywhere near enough to stop the infiltration of fresh air.

Interesting. I have always used reciculation mode, as the units are far more efficient in this mode. Your thinking on moisture is contrary to what the a/c unit is really doing(removing humidity and with it heat). I have never gotten drowsy on recirc. setting, cold, but not drowsy. When too warm, I gets drowsy, roll down the window til I can stop.
