Steering Wheel Cover

Has anyone installed a steering wheel cover for the F53? I really don't like the feel of the stock wheel during a long trip. The wheel itself is 17.5" in diameter, and I've been looking for a while, but so far no luck. Thanks!!!

I have the earlier version with a 16.5" wheel. I swapped to an F150 leather wheel.

The spline arrangement changed at some point, but there still may be other Ford steering wheels that would work for you. Worth some googling...

I installed a Wheelskins EuroPerf in my car and will in the MH too, they are custom made, about 50$ on eBay.

Take a look at some of the truck stops. I had a hard time finding one for the bigger wheel until I looked there.

I got my leather looking cover at O'reillys for about $6.00. You stretch it onto the wheel, and then wrap the plastic string? around the wheel. I've used these on 4 motorhomes and innumerable autos. They have a great feel. Eddie Elk.

I took a leather one on eBay for 6$Can shipping included. Come with rope and the tool to sew it. It is real leather, looks very very good. I used it from Montreal to Florida and came back. Fits perfectly, looks like it was done by Ford. It covers the whole diameter, thin, it is perfect. Took 20 minutes to sew. You sew the rope in the holes.

I've done a number of Wheelskins, both on F53's and a couple of cars. On the last F53 that I did in May I didn't measure the steering wheel very well and it was too small. So I loosened up my measurements a bit and reordered. The second one fits fine. The size that I used on the second one was 17 1/2" x 3 3/4".

The first picture the Wheelskins is on a 2008 F53 chassis and the second picture the Wheelskins is on a 2011 F53 chassis. Ordered mine online directly from Wheelskins and they run around $60 each. Well worth it, they are the best that you can buy and they are the ones used on many luxury automobiles. Leather Steering Wheel Covers Manufacturer and Distributor
