Hi all,
I'm relatively new here, and new to a used 2000 Itasca 35U Suncruiser, with a Ford V10 Triton. I was "under the hood" yesterday checking out the heater hoses and noticed something very strange. One of the injector ports is partially exposed! It looks like it may be the wrong part, or installed incorrectly, but the rig seems to run fine except for seeming to be a little under-powered. Everything is tight, and it doesn't appear that this was ever tampered with. It appears to be this way from the factory. The exposed port goes all the way thru, and is open on the opposite end. I have included 2 photos, one of the entire engine, and a close-up of the port. It is on the far right rear of the engine when looking from behind.

I was going to take out the spark plugs and check to see what the combustion looked like, but then I read about problems with the plugs on this model engine possibly blowing out. Is it safe to remove them to check? Does this look normal?? Possibly Ford used the same part on different models, but this sure looks strange to me. Any ideas??

By the way, is there any way to avert the plugs from blowing? Is this a wide-spread problem? The rig has 14,000 miles on it.

Thanks,
Bob

This condition has been posted before, this is the way it was built. You’re just fine all the V10s are that way.

OK! I feel much better now! Thanks for your quick response. sorry for the duplication, but I guess I was just searching in the wrong place for answers.
