I did the same thing. A bright LED on the dash.

The switch on the E-brake pedal just grounds the wire that is going to it.
You just have to wire one side of the led to a wire that is live with the ignition on, and run a wire from the other terminal on the LED and splice it in to the wire going to the E-Brake switch so it will ground when you apply the E-Brake. I believe it's a purple wire if I remember correctly.
The LED lights are usually polarity sensitive, so if it doesn't work, just revers the wires on the LED.

Mash that pedal

Over the years I've learned a few things. Usually the hard way...by doing something wrong and/or stupid. The parking brake is one. If I am setting the brake I set it...hard! Set it so hard that there's no way I can move very far without it reminding me. Don't be shy, stand on that pedal. The whole point of setting it is so that the vehicle won't move, so mash that sucker. If I set it as hard as possible and the vehicle can still move, it's time for an adjustment.

Me too

Everything Bydnar said - Mash down on that sucker. I guarantee you'll never drive with it still engaged again.. Because the MH won't be able to move....

NOTE - Whenever we first start, I always get the MH rolling forward a little, then momentarily slide it into "N" and see how well it coasts. This is a double check for the toad, to see if its in gear or brake on, but I have caught the MH brake on a couple times.

I like the idea of another BRAKE light. The original is hard to see...

Hi all,

I read on of the links provided above to put the
coach in drive with the park brake on and do not touch the accelerator, I did this and the coach did not roll.
I then pushed the pedal and felt a lot of resistance.

I must of only had the brake on partially.

Thanks all for the help,

After driving with the parking brake on more than once, I have now developed the habit of reaching down and pulling on the release lever before I start moving, whether the brake is on or off. The steering wheel blocks my view of the light...

I did that for about three blocks through Bishop, CA. Heard an alarm but didn’t figure it out for a little while.

Here's a couple of pics of my LED light. Sorry about one being upside down.

What bulb did you replace it with and how did you do it?

On my “getting ready to move” checklist releasing the parking brake is the first item. Don’t ask me why I have it on the list......

I bought 10 of these. One of them I used for the e-brake light. I put 2 amber ones on each mirror for turn signal lights.
I found a wire that was hot when the ignition switch is on for one side and the other side went to the e-brake switch. As someone else said, this connects to ground when the brake is applied.

Hey ,I like that idea for the signal lights. Now on the todo list . Maybe i will wire a backup alarm on those too. Save the DW a lot of "your signal light is still on"

This is the last item on my before departure PRINTED checklist.

"Release Emergency Brake"

You're probably alright. Just test it by driving forward slowly and engage the E brake. That will show you how effective it is. Stow all loose items :-)

I normally double check it but had got distracted by the jack alarm.

I will put a sticker on the dash saying "check brake".
