Sumo Springs

2014 Southwind 32VS on Ford 22K. I tow an enclosed trailer with all my desert toys (dirt bikes, etc) and thinking about adding Sumo Springs. The trailer and tongue weight are within the capacity of the rig but just want a little extra support on the rear axle. On my last rig (99 Adventurer also an F53) I had air bags but this go around I'm thinking of going with Sumo Springs. I find that there are two versions. The Solo version has a lower weight rating and only attaches to the frame and not the axle. The Maxim version has a higher capacity and attaches both top and bottom. Wondering if that's an issue when using the levelers? Anybody have experience with them and which version do you have?

i have The Solo version ,some times when the jacks r down the sumo has 2 to 3 inches open between them and the axel. Under normal conditions (driving conditions)
they get weight on them they get squished about 3/4 to 1/2 inch on the rear.the fronts only get squished 1/4 to 1/2 inch.

Do you happen to know what the overall length of the Sumo is before installation? I'm considering this option to compliment my Koni shocks but I've read that it statically raises the coach a considerable amount, which I don't want to do. I have the same 22k chassis as yours. As it is now, the rear bump stops are about an inch + above the rear axle.

5.75 in.for the summo and 5.187 for the timbren both without bracket.the old bump stops come off and you use the factory bracket for the rear i think the front is the same length .for my unit summo part # ssr 182-54 is the rear and the front part # is ssf 182-54.i wood like to say its a easy install about 1and 1/2 hrs. But it depends on your capabilities. Easy for one may be impossible for others.you cant learn if you dont try

Thanks for the info, so about 5.75in for front and rear, right? I can install them, no problem there.
Does your coach rest on the sumos, or is there a gap between the spring pad and sumo? I've read that the best results are to have a small gap between them. Any additional comments you can add would be appreciated. I'm almost conviced to take the plunge.
Thanks again.

the front is 5.75 but using that the summo wont touch the axle-spring unless the springs r old or you have a lot of weight on them.the summo for the front comes with a spacer that i used and will make it 6.75.for me they just have a little weight on them about .375 in. less than the 6.75. my total weight with full fuel (gas&propane )
and 1/2 water,m/t waste water and full camping gear for 5 month trip is 19200#.left front 3540#.right front 3000#.left rear 5740# and right rear 6920#.i have tried moving weight around but there is only so much you can move, and i have not re weight yet.

Thanks for the info, appreciate it. Did adding the sumos raise the static ride height if your coach? Or did it stay the same as before the sumos?

Sumos on the way. I ordered the same ones you have. I stay at places that don't always have real level spots and didn't want to chance over extending the fully attached ones, since either the front or rear wheels sometimes come off the ground.
700 mile trip coming up so I'll post the results....
Thanks for your help.
