Was traveling through a small town in Arizona, doing about 35MPH, and heard a loud bang! Pulled over and discovered the driver side inner rear tire was flat. Called for service and the guy showed me the 2" hole in the sidewall. Lucky I was going slow. The tire is a Goodyear, date code 4004 with 10790 miles on it. I guess it was defective as the pressure was 80psi, just under max inflation. Fortunately I had a spare. I purchased another tire from the shop just in case. I now have a really beefy Bridgestone spare tire. I guess it could have been a lot worse as I have been traveling hundreds of miles through the high desert in Utah and Arizona. There were times when I went 50 miles between towns on a two lane road and NO service in between!

Glad to hear all turned out OK and no damage to your coach.

Traveling in the back country in any state especially, the in west and north west, it would be advantagious to have some way to contact the outside world.
An amatuer radio license would give you that ability. there motto is "When all else fails" You don't have to learn morse code anymore.

FYI: Had a blow-out 3 weeks ago. No spare tire. Called 24 hour road service. Truck arrived with a new tire in about 3 hours. Dismounted blow-out then mounted and balanced (tossed in a bag of balancing beads) the new 22.5 inch Michelin RV tire in about 15 minutes without even removing the wheel/rim from the coach. $322.80 for the new tire (fair price); $185 ($85 of it for milage from service center)for the service. Nice service technician. Nice big service truck with some "slick" air tools. Extended warrantee paid all but my $100 deductable. Ate lunch during the wait. Didn't get my hands dirty. Used to think I needed a spare; now I don,t. Danny

Big Red.........Keep a very close eye on your tires. I had two G670 tires replaced by Goodyear. Exact same vintage tires as yours. Goodyear dealer stated they had trouble with the 245\70R\19.5 in F load range. Mine were replaced with load range G and I have had no failures since.
