I have a 1994 24 ft. Minni Winni on a Ford E-350 Chassis. I'm confused as to what the correct tire pressure should be: The door decal states 65 psi and the Winnebago sticker shows 55 psi. They currently have 80 psi which is the recommended pressure for my 2001 Dodge 2500. Which is correct? We are leaving on our first trip Wed. and I don't want any tire problems.

Thanks

I suggest you contact the tire manufacturer for thier recommendation. Have your specific tire info and RV weight(s) available and they can help.

Regardless of what any sticker may say, the only way to set proper tire pressure is to weigh your coach fully loaded and refer to a weight chart for proper pressure/weight ratios. However, you can't go wrong airing up to the max pressure shown, you just will experience a harsher ride. The biggest danger is under-inflation.

Over inflation will wear out the center of the tread requiring replacing the tires sooner. I bought a 3/4 ton diesel truck and it came from the factory with 60 pounds in the front and 80 pounds in the rear.
Since I drive it more empty than with a load on it it wore the tread faster on the rear tires resulting in less than desirable traction. I replaced the rear tires last fall and the front tires still have plenty of tread on them.

Couldn't agree more on "over inflation". However, I stated airing to max stated pressure could do no harm. It also is a gas saver. Best option - weigh your coach and refer to inflation tables furnished by tire companies for best pressure settings.

I've been surfing this forum (and the web) for inflation guidelines and came across the following link.

Michelin North America RV Videos and Demos Page

Good info on inflation and what to do in case of a blow-out!
