Tires for 20,000lb F53 Chassis

Hey All
I'm planning to replace the tires on the '97 Mountain Aire 3757 soon. According to the documentation, the 3757 is just over 17,000lbs curb weight. She currently has 8 Goodyear G949 235/85R16's. They are hitting the 7yr mark in a few weeks, and I'm not sure about running these another year.
I'm not really looking to spend over $2000 for the G949 tires, so I've been looking at more cost effective options.
Has anyone run the Falken R52 heavy duty LT's, or the Thunderer Commercial LT's? There are lots of cost effective options that are standard LT tires, but I think I'd rather run a commercial grade tire, unless the ride quality will be horrible.
Thanks!

I replaced six tires at the local Ford dealer in your size with Kelly Tires for about $200.00 each. I kept the best old tires on the tags. I have a '98 Pace Arrow Vision 37'. I run 75 pounds with the sticker calling for 70. Eddie Elk.

Ever thought of recaps, at least on the rears? I have them on my hd trucks and very good service. Virgin tires only for steers, otherwise all recaps. One other thought that has crossed my mind, what about trailer service tires for tags? Seems alot of blowouts happen on tags(previous owner had 2). I suspect the side drag stress has something to do with this. Feel free to chime in.

Recap are the tires you see on the side of the road. When a tire comes off the rim on a RV it can cause a lot of damage and will quickly eat up any money you saved by using recap.

I won't run recaps. I did consider running ST tires for the 6 rears, but figured the ride quality would be too rough. But, running them on the tag might work well, especially since they generally have a higher load capacity.

Common misconception on "gators" alongside road. Today's recaps, or rather "remolded" tires as some are called, are much better than years past. I put 1000's of miles on recaps on my trucks and no failures. I did however have a virgin tire explode in the parking lot. I figure must have been a road hazard damage. I watched tires being remolded at a local bauer built center and was thoroughly impressed with quality control. I will say, if you don't keep an eye on your tires, any tire can fail. Tire failure can cause alot of damage. Previous owner of my rig had two tire failures ontag, both virgin tires. Took out the fuel filler hoses. Some repair shop had did a redneck repair, needless to say, I fixed it correctly with complete new filler hose and more bracing.

HELLO, I just put Yokohama RYO23 on my 38' Winnebago Adventurer. I replaced the Goodyear 670 12 ply with the Yokohama 14ply much cheaper. After calling the regional rep with a couple questions he asked me how many I planned on buying and I was replacing all 6 he called the local dealer and gave me an extra $15 per tire off, pretty hard to beat that deal. Ran a couple thousand miles at the end of the season and was quite pleased with the new rubber. Good luck.

I run the Michelin XPS rib tires on my '97 Aerbus with tag. Michelins give me piec of mind and I like the fact that the XPS rib model has the addd steel sidewall wrap for strength. They ride very quiet and smooth. last spring during Presidents' Day holiday they were on sale at Discount and I got each tire for $215 and I used my interest free account so I also got an additional $70 rebate. I use the 235 85 16 size.
