Parked the rig in it's winter hibernation spot, and while installing one of the front tire cover,s noted the rear transmission cross member was very wet with transmission fluid. In the less than 24 hours that it had been parked there, there was even some on the pavement.
I got under the coach and it I think I can tell where it is coming from. Bolted onto the back of the trans are not one but two "extensions", before the driveshaft parking brake drum. It looks to me as if the leak is where those two extensions bolt together. In looking it over, I'm thinking any imbalance of the driveshaft/brake drum assembley would put a lot of strain on that joint/gasket.
Anything to add or suggest? If that is the leak, it doesn't look like it would be too bad to repair. Fairly good access. It will have to wait until the spring though.
