I changed the oil in my (new to me) 2004 V10 engine today. The manual says the oil capacity is 6 qts. They don't say if that includes the filter or not. The level seems to be at the correct level on the dipstick, but is hard to tell for sure because the new oil is so clear it could be low. Anyway, does anyone know if the 6 qts. includes the filter?
Thanks
Bob

Bob my 2006 takes 6 qts with a filter change, sometimes another 1/8 qt.

6 quarts with a filter change is correct. Dip stick is really hard to read.

Just picked up second ford f53, 2008 windsport 35B from a private party. I change my oil and filter and when trying to check the oil found I could not pull the dip stick out. Ford dealer said need to replace stick housing for about $275.00. Anyone have that problem and a soulation.

mikron, I have the same problem. Sometimes it took 2 hands to unstick the rubber bulb from the tube. I now put a little Vaseline on it and helps somewhat.

I had a 300 lb friend try and pull it out and no go. Put a few drops of oil around the yellow plastic pull part no go.

Some have a cam type release lever. Also, try rotating the yellow plastic body with a pair of pliers.

WOW! I wonder if you heat the tube and or freeze the dip stick will free it. Or a possibility is to make 2 small slices in the tube where the bulb is with a dremel.

shoud that not been a warranty issu ebesides that seems like a lot for the tube it is just force fitted to the block i have several fords i found a small shop that does great work at a low price go to the library and check out a haynes motor manual it will have a detailed drawing of the tube
good luck brianj

Yellow thumb part moves around but wont come out. Ford dealer cost is $55.00 for the part and about $200.00 for labor. The tube looks like a snake killed on the highway in twist and turns to feed to the pan.

At this point I change the oil and filter and put 6 quarts in done. In the cooler weather I will buy the part and change myself.
