Vaccum break booster - tag axle

I have a 1997 Rexhall Aerbus with a tag axel. The booster unit was so poorly welded between the frame rails it broke off; I must have drug it 10 miles down the road before I discovered what had happened. I took off what that was left and in doing so I think I lost the outer half of the drum unit. I pounded out the half that I had. I have made several call searching and have been told the part has been discontinued. If i could get an idea of how it is hooked up I think I can make it do the job it supposed to do... has anybody have idea how I can get this thing going???? Lonnie

Hmmm, 17 people have viewed your request for help, with no response. I, for one, do not understand exactly what component you are working on. Could you explain a little bit more? Do you have any pictures you could post? When you said " I lost the outer half of the drum unit" made me think you lost your parking brake assembly. Are we talking about air brakes in a DP?

Hi Lonnie,

You post is a bit vague, but if you have a gas chassis check out this post. I think it will explain a lot.
