I was having an inspection on a Newmar on the F53 chassis and the inspector noticed the signs of water in the oil. He saw the oil looking brown and creamy on the oil filler cap. The coach had a recent oil change and the oil on the dipstick looked fine.
My question is: Is a problem on these engines after sitting for a while to have any condensate in the oil system? Has anyone noticed a brown creamy oil residue on their oil filler cap.
Thanks for any help on this, as otherwise this seems to be a good coach.

Low mileage with a lot of short hop driving can cause this. People that start the motor and idle it routinely during non use periods can also get this build up.

Condensation that causes a oily creamy buildup on the inner side of the oil fill cap is not unheard of and it is usually harmless if regularly cleaned off. Running an engine regularly and allowing it to come up to full temperature can help reduce the occurrence.
The oil fill cap is pretty far from the engine and in a cool area in front of thee radiator. So it gets condensation from the crankcase condenses on it. I see a little brownish foam on mine.
If you are consuming coolant and the oil is a little brownish foamy when you change it, then start worrying..
