I just bought a 99 37' Dolphin with the Triton V10. The owner's maual shows two rear end types: Dana 80 and Dana 135. How do I determine what chasis and rear end I have?

Kevin checking my Ford service disk for year 2000 looking at your vin# if the 10th position is an "X" you have a 275hp V-10 if the 10th position is a "Y" you have a 310hp V-10.
Now if you can find the Veh. cert. (VC) lable it will have info. for paint color, axle, etc. If you see the numbers under the axle listing if it is a "75" it is a Dana 80 if it's a "95" you have Dana 135
The 4th position in the vin.# is the brake code ( weight rating)
L-14,001-16,000 GVWR
M-16,001-19,500 GVWR
N-19,501-26,000 GVWR

If your coach is 37' you most likely have the 228" wheelbase chassis and the Dana 135 with a 5.38:1 ratio differential.

Thanks for the feedback. I do have the VC label.

The 10th VIN char = X: 275hp V-10
Axle = 75: Dana 80
WB = 228"
Brk = P: ???
GVWR = 18000 LB

Great info - Thanks again!!!

I have a 99 Damon Intruder and it has an "X" in the 10th position. Where might the VC label be located? Thanks!
