I need to change the conversion constant on my speedo in my 95 F53 so it will work again. Has anyone had to do this on a similar model? It is supposed to be under the I/P but I cannot find it. Any help is always appreciated.

You are looking for a single light blue wire with a yellow stripe attached to a brown connector (C229). The wire is covered with a small corrugated black plastic loom and the brown connector is not plugged into anything but it is taped to the large black plastic loom that splits off and has all the wires that plug into the back side of the Ford Instrument panel. The brown connector is located a few inches below where all the wires split off.
A Ford dealer can do the reprogram.

The Conversion Constant for the F53 = 1.0.
The information for the PSOM comes from the E-Brake at the transmission.
Why would you need to change it?
Are you running non standard wheels and rims?
If you are running stock you should never have to change the Conversion Constant.

Thanks Dwight and Subford for your replies. The reason I need to do this is my speedo is not working. When i press the reset button and turn key on a message appears on speedo. It says E 08 0. When i hit the reset again with key on it gives me the message- 100CAL.
In what info i could find on different forums i have been able to find, most say when this message comes up i need to change my conversion constant. When i first hit reset with key on the speedo goes all the way over to 80 and then comes back to 0. In norman running as soon as i move the speedo starts to move and then pegs to 80 when driving. When i stop it comes back to 0 and when i start moving again it starts to move and then pegs to 80 again. I have replaced the VSS to no avail. I checked fuse #5 and is ok. Thanks again for your help!

Am I to assume that the 100CAL is 1.00 which already is the correct conversion constant for my F53 per Subford. If so, then i am back to square one why the speedo is not working. I cant understant why if the PSOM is faulty why an "ERROR" message doesnt appear. Any suggestions?

NOTE:
"Error 3" means conversion constant must be programmed.
Any other error says to replace the PSOM.

My iPhone lost your email before I could read it and respond to it, you can resend it if you like.
