Wipers Quit

On the way home from Florida, it poured rain allday no wipers etc. Good thing I used rain-x . Next day I had to have wipers as slop on roads slush
etc. So I hooked a wire and switch direct to wiper and it worked. By the way when they stopped working it was a burning bakilite smell.
So I got new signal wiper switch control, and that didn't solve.
The fuse was OK and I was wondering if relays in the power panel under hood. Wondering if anyone had this issue or have a wiring Diagram for wiper system.

Thanks Don

Did the old switch give any indication of the smell, burnt plastic ?
If not it's possible you have an issue with a wiring connector under the dash, in my experience, all wiring from the steering column will run through a connector near the base of the column, a melted down connector there could be the cause of your problem.

2001 F53 wiring diqagram

I am going to try to up load the wiring diagram .If it wont work I will have to email it to you . The first thing that I would check on this one is the motor ground .I believe they run a wire from the chassis to the wiper motor because the motor is mounted on fiber glass . The motor and the last bit of wiring are not Ford .

There are a series of pinpoint tests to do .If the fuses are good this would be
your next step . Let me know how you make out ,so that I know what the next step is .

My wipers quit and it was the loose plug connector under the hood the connection between F53 build and Newmar 2901 2009 furnished wiper motor.

I went out today and did some testing ,I got no power at fuse 11, key on or key off.
I seem to have the Chassie 2000 and they sold as 2001.
Now the power distribution panel has relay 33 34 35 as wiper iso relays could they be
defective, or ???
Without power from 11 it powers wiper mod.
Thanks DON The wiring diagram sure helps.

I was just looking at the diagram ,fuse 11 is not powered by a relay . What are you using to test ? Does it have a good ground ? does it show power at any other source.
Key on you need power there first .dark green wire at the module or the switch .
If you are sure there is no power at fuse 11 you could have a problem at Connector C200 which is under the dash it is a square connector with 12 terminals .It is powered by the ignition switch .Fuse 5 and 17 use the same source.Make sure tester has a good ground . I am thinking that connector could be where a foot could have dislodged it ,may just need to be pushed together.

Hi Darrel
yes I just noticed that connector C200 in wiring Diagram I think that could be the issue because it goes from powerdist to fuse panel.
Got the Flu today and also my wife has it too , what away to spend Easter had to cancel gathering with family.
So I'll have to check that out got everything tore apart anyway.
Thanks Again Don
ps Excell if you need lock or key etc info let me know
