Wipers won't turn off

The windshield wipers on my 2018 Tiffin Allegro Open Road 32SA (Ford F3 chassis) won't turn off. (Fortunately only about a mile from my house) we stopped for gas, and when I turned on the engine the wipers turned on. Thinking I had accidentally hit the lever I tried to turn them off to no avail. Tried turning the engine off and on several times. Fiddled with the switch. Nope. Still stayed on. Kept hitting the windows with washer fluid until I got home.

Will call Tiffin on Monday. Luckily it's still under warranty.

But in the meantime, has anyone else experienced this and if so, any suggestions?

Thanks!

There is a park switch in the wiper motor. If it has failed in the closed position you wipers won't shut off. Some of those switches can be repaired or replaced. If not the wiper motor will need replacing.

Problem solved by my local RV repair guy. The wiring harness for the wiper motor located in the engine compartment was damaged by the hood opening and closing. Tiffin had installed the harness in such as way that the sharp edge of the hood was rubbing on it when it was opened and closed, eventually wearing through the outside harness jacket and through the plastic coating on each of three of the wires. Exposed bare copper on all three. The wires shorted out. The problem wasn't obvious and took a good sleuth job by the repair guy at Hollister RV.

Though identifying the problem was hard the solution was simple. He repaired the wires and re-routed the harness so the door no longer can touch it.

Thanks again for the replies.
